NIRF Rankings 2024: The Education Ministry Monday released the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2024 at a press conference. While announcing the rankings, education minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared that from 2024, the NIRF Rankings will also include three other categories - skill universities, open universities, and state government colleges. Under skill universities ranking of the NIRF 2024, this year only three institutes made to the list. All three universities belong to different states of the country Maharashtra, Haryana and Rajasthan. Bhartiya Skill Development University Meanwhile, continuing its winning streak, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has again grabbed the number one position under the best engineering colleges category. Like previous years, this time too, IITs have dominated the top 10 list of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2024 in the engineering category as nine out of 10 are IITs and the one is NIT. The National Law School of India University, Bengaluru grabbed the top spot under the best performing law colleges category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024. NLSIU Bangalore is followed by National Law University (Delhi) and Nalsar University of Law (Hyderabad) at the second and third positions,. Like last year, the fourth spot has been secured by Kolkata’s West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences. AIIMS Delhi retained its top spot this year too in the top medical colleges category. They are followed by Chandigarh’s Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in the second position. The Christian Medical College and Bangalore’s National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) also retained their third and fourth spot, respectively. The fifth spot has also been retained by the Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry.
