CBSE Class 10th Math exam analysis: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 21 conducted the math exam for class 10. As per students and teachers, the exam was lengthy and even short questions required long questions.

“Today’s Mathematics paper (for outside Delhi region) had a larger number of competence-based questions, thus making it moderate to difficult. Questions were application based and not directly from NCERT. Even the one marker question required a fair amount of calculations; thus, many students found the paper lengthy. While the above-average learners enjoyed solving it, the paper was a little demotivating for an average learner, especially when they have a phobia associated with the subject,” Deepti Sharma, Educator at Shiv Nadar School Gurgaon said.

Nilutpal Bora, PGT- Mathematics at Modern English School, Guwahati claimed that the paper was tricky but could easily be completed in the stipulated time. “The MCQ questions were relatively easy but a few questions of them were a bit lengthy. Questions related to Arithmetic progression and statistics were of moderate level. Few students might find questions based on case study a bit tricky but overall the question paper was very well balanced,” Bora said.

“The exam was more difficult than the previous year’s papers I had solved. Section-A was relatively easy, section B and C were of medium difficulty while section D and E were difficult. Most of the questions in all sections were lengthy. Some of my friends were not able to complete the exam on time,” Vanshul Hasija, a class 10 student of Delhi said.
