The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today started the counselling services for the students who received their Class 10, 12 result yesterday.
“With the announcement of CBSE Results, CBSE will start psychological service from 13 May, 2023 and continue till 27 May, 2023 from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (Monday to Saturday),” the official notice from CBSE stated.
A total of 59 principals, trained counsellors, and special educators from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and psychologists will be available for Class 10, 12 students through the tele helpline service. Out of these, 53 are from India, and six experts are from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.
To avail these services, students can dial a toll free number 1800-11-8004 from any part of the country, which will give centralised access to CBSE tele-counselling helpline, information and helpful tips to parents and students in case of result related anxiety or stress. Students can also get some information from the ‘Counselling’ link available on the CBSE website.
This year, the overall pass percentage for Class 12 is 87.33 per cent, which is a dip from last year, and 20.2 lakh of 21.6 lakh candidates cleared Class 10. This year’s results saw performance of students settling at pre-pandemic levels, with the overall pass percentage dipping in both classes, and fewer students scoring above 90 per cent and 95 per cent, respectively.
