The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) is likely to release official notification for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026 this week, with the examination tentatively scheduled to be held on January 17-18, 2026.

An HBSE official confirmed the proposed timeline, stating, “HBSE has proposed the exam dates to be January 17-18; however, the Board is awaiting confirmation on the same from the state government.” The official further noted, “The board is ready to begin the online registration process, and once the schedule is confirmed, the board will begin the online application process shortly.”

This indicates that the registration window could open as early as this week, pending final approval from state authorities. The board will release comprehensive information regarding application dates and eligibility requirements once confirmation is received.

The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test is a mandatory qualifying examination for candidates seeking teaching positions in government schools across Haryana. The test assesses the competency and suitability of aspiring teachers across three levels corresponding to different teaching positions in schools.

What is the required eligibility for HTET?

The HTET examination is divided into three levels based on teaching positions:

–Level 1 (Primary Teacher – PRT): Candidates must have completed their 12th-grade education and hold a Diploma in Education (DEd).

–Level 2 (Trained Graduate Teacher – TGT): Applicants are required to possess a bachelor’s degree along with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) qualification.
