The state board made provisions to promote students based on other assessment measures. Dr. Singh further informed that in this examination the pass percentage of government schools was 63.54 per cent and that of private schools was 88.21 per cent. In this examination, the pass percentage of the students of rural area is 74.06, while the pass percentage of the students of urban area is 71.35 per cent.
The Chairman said that 3,26,487 candidates had appeared in the Secondary (Educational) examination, out of which 2,38,932 passed and 19,679 candidates will have to appear in the compartment exam. In this examination, 1,76,168 boys appeared, out of which 1,24,303 passed and 1,14,629 girls appeared out of which 1,50,319 girls passed.

Haryana board conducted the class 10 board exams in 2020. The private schools had performed better than government-run schools in 2020. As many as 69.51 per cent of students from private schools had cleared the exam while for the govt-run schools the pass percentage was 59.74 per cent.
Not only had more girls passed the boards but the top three slots were also reserved by females in 2020 and 2019 when board exams were conducted in the state. Girls scored a pass percentage of 69.86 per cent while as many as 60.27 per cent of boys passed in 2020. In 2019, 62 per cent of girl students cleared the exam; as compared to 53 per cent of boys. In 2018, the pass percentage of girls was 55.34 per cent girls and 47.6 per cent boys cleared the exam.
