The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced that the examination date for the preliminary competitive test for the post of Assistant Branch Officer under Advertisement No. 37/2025 is scheduled to be held on September 10, 2025, across designated centres in 11 districts of the state.
According to the notification, released last night, the candidates will appear for the General Knowledge (Objective) paper from 12:00 noon to 2:15 PM on the exam day. The commission has advised aspirants to carefully check their admit cards for details of examination centres and instructions.
This recruitment drive will fill a total of 41 vacancies in the post of Assistant Branch Officer. The positions fall under Pay Level 7, carrying a salary scale of Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400 per month along with admissible allowances.
Applicants were required to hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university by the last date of application submission. The minimum age limit has been fixed at 21 years as on August 1, 2025. The upper age limit varies by category:
37 years for unreserved male candidates,
40 years for backward class, extremely backward class (male and female) and unreserved female candidates,
42 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates (male and female).
Meanwhile, the BPSC has mentioned that the examination will strictly follow the published guidelines and candidates must adhere to all instructions on the admit card.
