The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on March 21 revealed that every year a large number of students from CBSE and other Indian boards are enrolling in the Bihar board.

BSEB claims that in 2022, 1,13,210 students of other boards enrolled in Class 11 of Bihar Board, including 95,204 students from CBSE. As a result of the online enrollment system, about five lakh students of other boards have taken admission in Class 11 of BSEB since 2018.

According to the data provided by BSEB, since 2020, more than 1 lakh students of other boards have been transferring to the Bihar Board every year. From CBSE, 47,421 students transferred to BSEB in 2018, 69,460 in 2019, 87,086 in 2020, 1,00,438 in 2021 and 95,204 in 2022.

From the CBSE, ICSE and other boards, 59,544 students took admission in Class 11 of Bihar Board in 2018, 85,997 in 2019, 1,07,353 in 2020, 1,21,316 in 2021 and 1,13,210.

The officials claim that the reason behind this is the changes brought in by the board in the past few years, which is more similar to the pattern of competitive exams. Another reason given by BSEB is that the majority of the toppers score more than 90 per cent marks.

Meanwhile, BSEB today declared the Inter (Class 12) board exam result 2023 for arts, commerce and science streams, which recorded an overall pass percentage of 83.70 per cent. Girls have once again fared better than boys. Commerce topper, Somya Sharma, secured 95 per cent , Science topper, Ayushi Nandan, earned 94.8 per cent and Arts/ Humanities topper, Mohaddesa, scored 95 per cent.
