UNION MINISTER and lone BJP MP from Kerala Suresh Gopi, who shares a bittersweet relation with the Kerala media, received some advice from Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan on how to deal with journalists. At a function in the Capital on Sunday where Gopi received the award for ‘newsmaker of the year’, the Vice-President, whom the actor-politician described as “brotherly friend and mentor”, asked him to keep calm in public life. In an apparent reference to Gopi’s emotional outbursts while dealing with the media, Radhakrishnan said: “When people ask questions, don’t get emotional. If you want to answer, do so. Otherwise, walk away.” Gopi was seen nodding with a smile.
