Amid the ever-growing bitterness between the ruling and opposition sides in the House, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar seems to be ploughing ahead to earn goodwill. Last week, Dhankhar, who had earlier hosted dinner and high tea for MPs in groups during the intercession period, announced that even the retired members from the Upper House will get lodging facilities during their visits to Delhi. He announced it while felicitating some outgoing MPs, and members cutting across party lines appreciated the gesture.

The buzz, however, is over the desirable work experience for ‘climate change’, which states: “Preference will be given to candidates having publications or worked with IPCC, UNFCCC, UNEP, UNDP or such organisations”. Officials wonder whether work experience in international organisations is the wild card to be a part of the think tank.
