The MP had referred to some of the abusive posts that were in the public domain then. After over three months, Delhi Police asked the Rajya Sabha MP to provide the proof for filing an FIR. The MP, while submitting the evidence of the cyber attack, wrote to the police that it was trying to “abdicate its statutory duty in insisting that he must furnish the corroborating evidence for such a complaint”. Brittas argued that as an MP he was “fully competent to bring such grave matters… to the attention of law enforcement authorities”.
