BJP president and Union Minister J P Nadda has in the last 10 days offered prayers at several prominent shrines. On Saturday, when Nadda was in J&K’s Katra to address a workshop of party MLAs, he offered obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi temple. A day earlier, Nadda had prayed at the Jagannath temple in Puri while on a visit to the city to inaugurate the 9th National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices and Innovation in Public Healthcare System. On February 22, the BJP chief took a dip in the Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and also offered prayers at a prominent Hanuman temple there. A day before that, he offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath temple during his tour of Varanasi to address ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam 3.0’.

Personal Touch

IN AN unprecedented move, Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O P Choudhary on Monday presented a handwritten 101-page budget speech in Hindi. Photos of the minister writing the budget were also shared with the media. While many people praised Choudhary’s handwriting, some journalists were left wondering why he made the extra effort as not every handwritten word may be legible for every reader. The minister is believed to have written the 101 pages in three days, staying up at night.

Know The Budget

After the Union Budget, the BJP sent its national spokespersons and some other leaders to different cities to address “intellectuals’ meets” and spread awareness about “the good aspects of the budget”. The meetings were attended by lawyers, teachers, doctors, chartered accountants and writers, besides the Central leader and some local politicians. A few days ago, BJP national spokesperson Prem Shukla addressed one such gathering in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur. These meetings, being organised by the party for the last few years, are a part of the BJP’s strategy to spread goodwill about the budget.
