The highlight of the second day of the Pune Design Festival 2010 was a workshop for small and medium enterprises,a seminar on automobile design,a demonstration showing use of design as a medium for heritage conservation.
The workshop for SMEs was intended to expose the enterprises to the systematic development of the design of a product,either in-house or by deploying design consultants, said Nachiket Thakur,chairman,PDF.
During the seminar,Autodesign Conclave,experts from like Mahindra and Mahindra,Bajaj Auto,Maruti Udyog and others answered the participants queries, said Thakur.
To demonstrate how design can be used to conserve heritage structure,a special session was conducted by museum curators from London and Paris at Pune Municipal Corporation’s Mahatma Phule Museum.
The museum has been receiving poor response and the curators demonstrated how the same structure can be given a facelift using modern design techniques, said Darpana Athale,member,Pune Design Festival.
