Huge LCD screens with gaming consoles wired in,bean bags thrown around and a sprawling paintball battleground seen in the distance seemed like an unusual set up for a college fest. DSK Supinfocom organised a two day animation,gaming and industrial design festival ,’Supinfomania 2011′ at their campus on March 26 and 27. The event began on a high note with close to 800 students from across the country participating in various events. The opening ceremony saw Jayanta Deb,vice president,engineering and design,Fiat India and Vinay Shetty,country head,ASUS India talk to students about the auto and gaming industry and its fast changing needs. Though in its second year,the fest already has a growing number of fans. Nikeet Shivalkar,an avid gamer from Mumbai says,“It was very well organised and could give serious competition to popular festivals like Mood I and Malhar.”

‘Game Kshetra’ saw gamers from across the nation competing. The preliminary rounds of Game Kshetra took place in cities like Mumbai,Bangalore,Pune,Kolkata and Delhi. The city champions battled it out at the finals. Saptesh Chaupal,member of the organising team,who is currently studying animation,says,“We started conceptualising the fest a long time ago. But the actual work went on till a day before the event.” The final winners of this two day fest were from MIT Pune,Sir J J School of arts,Mumbai & DSK Supinfocom,Pune.
