Vijay Divas: MSEDCL undertakes measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Koregaon Bhima

Work is underway to provide temporary new power connections to various stalls, medical facilities, and other places at the event venue.

With lakhs of people expected to visit Koregaon Bhima in the Pune district on the occasion of Vijay Divas (January 1), the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has taken various measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer, MSEDCL, Pune zone inspected and reviewed the work on Thursday.

Seven distribution transformers located in highly congested areas in Perne have been fenced with nets made of fibre-reinforced plastic for lightning protection. The capacity of transformers in Perne has been increased with the Rs 11.82 lakh of funds received from the District Planning Committee.

The old power lines have been replaced and repair work at 11 distribution boxes in Vijay Stambh area has been completed. Spacers have been installed at 31 places for low-pressure power lines. Also, the maintenance and safety measures of the entire electricity system in the area have been completed, an official spokesperson said.

Work is underway to provide temporary new power connections to various stalls, medical facilities, and other places at the event venue. Along with this, 30 Janamitras including senior engineers and assistant engineers have been specially deputed from Wednesday (December 27) to Monday (January 1) to provide smooth power supply and customer service for the Vijay Stambh Manavandana program.
