A speeding jeep knocked down a motorcyclist near Telachi Mori on the Pune Ahmednagar road on late Sunday evening. The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Alam Pasha alias Zakir Noormohammed Mulani (35),a resident of Anand Nagar in Mundhwa. According to the police,Mulani and his friend Balasaheb Thonge (39) were going towards Pune on separate motorcycles when at 11.45 pm a speeding jeep rammed into Mulanis motorcycle from the rear side. He died on the spot.
In another accident,a motorcyclist rammed into a road divider on the B T Kawade road killing the pillion rider identified as Ananta Rama Pawar (25) of Ramtekdi,Hadapsar on Friday morning. The motorcyclist Vikas Laxman Awate (21),also a resident of Ramtekdi,received major injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
According to the police,Awate was riding at a high speed and lost control of the motorcycle which to hit the road divider near Safe Society at 6.30 am. Apte did not have a licence,said the police.
