The Bengaluru police Saturday booked a two-wheeler rider in a road rage incident. The accused is currently absconding, and the police have launched a search operation to trace him.
The victim, identified as A Reddy, recorded the incident on his dashboard camera and shared the video on X, tagging the Bengaluru police handle.
The accused, Arbaz Khan, was identified through the registration number of the scooter visible in the footage.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Kadugodi police station, the incident occurred opposite Prestige Shantiniketan Mall on Friday at around 6 pm.
The scooter rider allegedly blocked the complainant’s car during a heated argument, abused him, pulled out a dagger, and threatened the occupants of the vehicle before fleeing the spot.
The FIR stated that the accused “wrongfully restrained the complainant’s vehicle on a public road, threatened him with a deadly weapon, and escaped from the scene.”
The police have booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Arms Act and under Sections 126 (wrongful restraint), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
