Trolling Bollywood

The AIB (All India Bakchod) boys are back in town with a crazier and funnier act titled The Royal Turds. They will be performing at High Spirits,Koregaon Park on Wednesday,8.30 pm onwards. The poor and jobless,as they describe themselves,line up for the night will feature Gursimran Khamba,Tanmay Bhat,Rohan Joshi,Ashish Shakya and Anuvab Pal analyzing and trolling the past year (2012) in Bollywood.

Larger than life

Pune-based artist Vidyadhar Khare who has created around 21 life-size paintings with during last two years would now be showcasing his art at Balgandharva Kaladalan from March 3 to 7. These life-size painting are made on canvas with oil and acrylic paints. Khare has made them in a semi-realistic form as he believes that the paintings should be inspiring at one hand but also should be easy to understand for viewers. He has selected different subjects to bring variety in this exhibition. Among his other works,the 6 x 4 ft painting of lord Krishna sitting under tree is definitely eye-catching.

Musical evening

Samarath seva sangh is organising a musical evening titled Das Navmi Utsav on March 6,6 pm onwards at Aanada Ashram,near Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya. The programme will feature noted singer Manjiri Alegaokar performing bhakti sangeet. She will present abhang,nattyageet,bhajan,bhaktigeet and other styles from Jaipur gharana. Avinash Patil on the tabla and Rohit Marathe on the harmonium will accompany Alegaokar on stage.

French Connection

The French Film Festival (FFF) will be held in Pune from March 5 to 7 at City Pride,Kothrud. The festival will be showcasing the various facets of contemporary French cinema. The event is aimed at helping Indian distributors promote French films and celebrate the growing ties of friendship and cultural exchange between India and France. The films to be shown at the festival include Populaire and In the House (Dans la maison) on the first day,followed by Zarafa and Hand in Hand (Main dans la main) on the second and The Dandelions (Du vent dans mes mollets) and Camille Rewinds (Camille redouble) on the final day.
