Three persons including a seven-year-old girl died in as many accidents on Saturday.

Around 3 pm,Mayuri Gangaram Dhangar,7,was travelling in a rickshaw with her mother to Shivajinagar. A car hit the rickshaw from behind at Kumbharves Chowk.

Due to the impact,Mayuri who was sitting on her mother’s lap,fell down from the rickshaw. A speeding Innova came from behind and the girl came under its wheels.

Faraskhana police said the girl was immediately taken to a private hospital nearby where she was declared dead. Police have arrested the driver of the Innova car Kailas Rampal Ghardia based on a complaint registered by Mayuri’s mother Shanta Dhangar.

In the second accident,67-year-old Suhas Shridhar Gole of Kothrud who was riding his two wheeler,died after he was hit by a speeding gas tanker from behind. The accident took place at a junction near Bhandarkar Institute around 10.30 am on Saturday,Deccan Gymkhana police said. Police have arrested the tanker driver Janak Baver.

In the third incident,a 28-year-old woman,Divya Sanjay Dhanve,died after she was run over by school bus when she was waiting at a bus stop near Medipoint Hospital in Aundh around 2.30 pm.
