The police said the accused is a resident of Dhanori. In January this year, she became acquainted with the complainant, who also lives in the Dhanori area, they said. The duo formed a good friendship, however, she later allegedly began demanding money from him. She threatened to file a rape complaint against him if he refused to give her money, the police said.
The police said the complainant gave her Rs 4.64 lakh over time, but she allegedly demanded more money. Consequently, he filed a complaint against her at the Vishrantwadi police station, and the police began a probe.
