Fresh from winning the Perfect Bachelor reality show, model Bhushan Patil now has his eyes set on the Marathi film industry.

Twenty-five-year-old model Bhushan Patil is a happy ‘bachelor’. Just back from winning the Marathi reality show Perfect Bachelor,he’s in celebration mode. “Who wouldn’t like being called perfect?” he grins. Two weeks ago,in the concluding episode of the show,Bhushan was judged as the best among the 12 contestants from across the state.

The show, produced by ETV Marathi, scanned youngsters across Maharashtra. The required aspects were good looks, style and communication skills. Set in a villa near Mumbai, the participants shared common space with each other and the judges monitored their behaviour and reaction to ‘tasks’. “These tasks were really just our reaction to their questions. I think apart from our physical attributes, they looked for spontaneity and presence of mind,” says Bhushan. The show was hosted by Rahul Mahajan and was judged by three Marathi actors – Neha Pendse,Sai Lokur and Shruti Marathe.

The Dhule-based model completed his civil engineering before opting for modeling. “I had auditioned for this show six months back. I had previously taken up a few modeling assignments but this was a different deal altogether. Also,I chose this because it was in Marathi and being a Maharashtrian,I wanted to work in my mother tongue,” he says. Bhushan’s family is engaged in the family profession of farming. “I come from a small family. We never thought of venturing into other fields. My parents are really proud of me. My father never thought that I would appear on television. It’s a beautiful feeling,” he shares.

Gearing up for the next photo-shoot he has been signed up for,he seems confident and motivated. “I have been approached for a few Marathi films and I’m in talks with a few directors. I see this victory as a big step ahead. It has given me the chance to meet and interact with people who I share common interests with,” he says.
