The Palm-Mystery

“There is no science that is all truth,” he says,adding,“Take Sociology for instance,its not totally accurate is it? Palmistry on the other hand doesn’t predict the future,but on the basis of the characteristics of an individual it helps guide the person to make better informed decisions that will help them become successful in life.” Having read palms for over 35 years now,Patwardhan says that he has thoroughly enjoyed reading palms of celebrities. “There is a lot of uncertainty in their profession,which makes it interesting to help them make decisions for the future,” he says.

Narrating one such incident about the late Raj Kapoor,he says,“ I met Raj saab,when he was shooting at the Pune University for Bobby. While his art directors were setting up the set,he was sitting quietly on a bench alone. I went up to him and requested him asking if i could secure an appointment to come and read his palm,to which he promptly showed me his hand and said ‘Read it now,I have time’. I told him that post Kal Aaj aur Kal,and Mera Naam Joker,which had both flopped at the BO,Bobby would take him back to the top where he would stay till the very end. And that happened.” He also predicted that a personal tragedy would strike Raj Kapoor soon,which also happened. Kapoor lost both his parents a month later within a span of 15 days.

Patwardhan’s celebrity clients are both from the political and the film world. With the likes of Dilip Kumar,Saira Banu,former chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde joining the list. Having met people like the late Sunil Dutt and also the late OP Nayyar,he had predicted the future for them too. “For Dutt Sahab,I told him that he would have a very active social life,and his film presence would reduce in his latter years,but whatever film he acted in would be a hit. When I met OP Nayyar he was at the top of his profession and I told him that his past was the best,his present would see a downfall,and he will die in anonymity in the future. And it all happened so,” he mentions proudly.

In his book,that was released on Sunday,Patwardhan has spoken about the fundamentals of palmistry,and also written true life articles of famous personalities across the globe for whom he has predicted the future. “I have dedicated a section to the basics of the science. Its always fun for youngsters to learn the basics of the science and predict somethings for their friends. However I still believe that palmistry is a lot more beyond just predicting the future for people,its about giving them a rough idea of what the future could be based on their past,present and their individual characteristics.”
