The Growing-up Years

Launched recently in Pune,Childology aims at improving the understanding between parents and children.

Parenting today is far more complex and a bigger responsibility than it has ever been. Both children and parents feel the pressure of daily living, increased competition in schools and other aspects of their lives. With increased pressure and the changing dynamics of the family structure, parents find themselves puzzled at the methods they should use to provide their children with the best possible skill sets to face life and its challenges.

While formal education provides basic knowledge and discipline required in the growing years, parents are always looking to enhance and nurture various skill sets in their children. Childology is focused on improving the atmosphere at home between parents and children by improving the communication and understanding between them. Based on the same idea,Childology in Pune is the brain child of Nazura Ajaney, who spent more than 15 years in the field of creativity and children, conducting her own art and craft camps, summer camps and finally working as teacher in an International Pre-School. Nazura interacted with a number of parents who voiced various issues related to parenting. The lack of parenting skill in today’s parents and the damaging effect it was having on children was quite apparent and hence she started working with a few parents on the idea of Childology.

Supported by SNDT College of Home Science,Pune,as its official knowledge partners,Childology offers a range of areas of excellence and programmes specifically created to enhance the experience of parenting. Helping both parents as well as children not only create their own abilities to solve issues at hand but also communicate effectively with each other. Veena Sant, principal at the SNDT College of Home Science, was the first point of encouragement as she instantly agreed to help Childology with the knowledge base available at her college.
