The Fab way

It was like an ode to the handloom. Fab India celebrated the completion of 50 years by launching the book – The Fabric of Our lives – at its Sassoon Road outlet. The launch was attended by author Radhika Singh,Bim Bissell,wife of founder John Bissell,and Pratima Kirloskar,president – Innovations,Kirloskar Brothers Ltd,along with the staff members of Fab India,close friends and loyal customers. The book,written by Singh,is an account of the growth of Fab India from a small firm exporting handlooms to one of the largest retail brands of handloom garments and accessories in the country. The author who is credited with starting Delhi’s first photo agency,Fotomedia,immersed herself in research for two years before coming out with the book. She traced the life of 68 people who were associated with the company,right from the weavers to customers and of course founder John Bissell himself. The launch was followed by a book reading session by Singh.
