After long queues of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) candidates began to be formed outside the Zilla Parishad office,the form submission centre was shifted from ZP to Raja Dhanraj Giriji High School,Rastapeth,on Friday.
There was heavy rush of applicants on the first few days. Almost 9,000 forms have been submitted at the 12 counters. The last date to submit the forms is November 15, said Mushtaq Shaikh,Education Officer,ZP.
There will be rush after Diwali. But,we are fully equipped now. We can submit around 600 forms an hour. We will increase the number of counters,if the need arises, said Sunil Kurhade,Deputy Education Officer,ZP.
As per the Right to Education Act,2009,it is mandatory for all the states to conduct TET to recruit teachers. The test will be held on December 15.
Two TETs will be held for DEd and BEd qualified candidates. Both,DEd and BEd candidates will have to secure 60 per cent marks to qualify.
