Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday lashed out at the Central government saying that there is no meaning to the infertile discussions on the Kashmir issue. He urged the government to take a firm stand instead of just going on talking about the issue.
It needs a lot of courage to take a stand on the issue. Lal Bahadur Shastri was one such strong Prime Minister. However, the present government is not courageous enough to take any stand, said Thackeray.
He was talking to newspersons during a personal visit to the city. He performed aarti at the five Manache Ganpati in the city. I prayed to lord Ganesha to eradicate all the difficulties the country is facing, he said.
He said Sena leader Manohar Joshi had clarified the partys stand on the Kashmir issue in the all party meeting that took place on Wednesday.
There will be no solution in the sight unless the Kashmir government shows its presence in the real sense, he said.
Thackeray also criticised Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for skipping the all-party meeting. It shows his concern towards the issue, he remarked.
On the increase in toll rates on highways,he said the government has to first repair the roads and then ask for the toll.
