Suzlon,a global wind power company,on Tuesday announced its ‘Gaadi Bandh’ initiative at a press conference in Hadapsar as a part of its P.A.L.S (Pure Air Lovers’ Society) campaign. The company aims to spread awareness about environment.

“At Suzlon,we want to go beyond our corporate duties and dispel apathy to create social consciousness on environmental change. Working towards this,we initiated P.A.L.S,a group of environmentally responsible individuals who encourage sustainable development so our existence doesn’t affect the planet in a negative manner,” said Dharini Mishra, global head of brand,Suzlon Group.

P.A.L.S has already found support from celebrities like Milind Soman and Nikhil Chinappa. “I don’t preach to people or tell them what I feel is right and wrong. I put my opinion and appeal to them to think for themselves. I am very particular about switching off the lights, geyser and other electronic equipments when not in use,”said Chinappa.

Suzlon promises to plant one tree for every registration on its website. Television campaigns have begun to encourage people to log on to http://www.pals.in to find out how they can become a pal of the planet.
