Law student Deepti Phule has been waiting for over two months for the answer-sheet of one of her third-year subjects from the University of Pune (UoP),despite the rules stipulating 45 days to issue it.
I needed the answer-sheet to examine my style of writing and thereby improve my score in the Land Laws subject. I had filed an application on January 29,but have not got the photocopy of the answer-sheet yet. The university authorities are giving evasive answers, she told Newsline on Monday.
Phule is among a group of students who are in a quandary owing to university administrations failure in complying with its own rules and regulations.
The university,through ordinance 182,introduced the facility of supplying photocopies of answer-sheets to students from March/April,2008.
As per the ordinance,the university has to supply the photocopies within 45 days from the date of receipt of application.
Students from non- professional courses are required to pay Rs 250 per answer-sheet for theory paper,while those from professional course have to pay Rs 300 per answer-sheet for theory paper.
University authorities said they were loaded with other examination-related work and were not in a position to issue photocopies of answer-sheets, said another law student.
The law students like many other students from different faculties are waiting for re-evaluation results while their examinations are about to start from April 16.
Officials concerned said the work on issuing photocopies is on. We agree that we have failed to meet the deadline but the students will be not be deprived of answer-sheets, he said.
