A Total of 25 students in Pune division were caught copying on the first day of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Thursday. The students were appearing for Marathi paper.
As many as 1,24,221 candidates in Pune district,which includes Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune rural,appeared for the SSC exam. According to T N Supe,secretary,MSBSHSE,25 cases of copying were found in Pune division that includes Pune,Ahmednagar and Solapur districts. The highest instances of copying were found in Nagpur as many as 133 students, he said.
Supe said that apart from some minor cases,no major incidents of malpractices were reported on the first day. Strict disciplinary action will be initiated against those found copying, he said.
A total of 16,23,342 students appeared for the class X exam. The MSBSHSE has formed 245 flying squads,7 for each district. Members of board and government officials also paid surprise visits to the exam centres. Video recording was carried out to check malpractices.
