Pecha Kucha nights (PKN) strikes the city with yet another session of rapid fire presentations,shared experiences and ideas and interesting interactions. The event is a meeting of individuals from every walk of life to share their passions and learnings through quick power point presentations. The PKN volume 6,will be hosted at Malaka Spice,Lane 5,Koregaon Park,on Ocotber 12,7pm-9pm. The event will feature presentations from Bharati Pitre,artist and sculptor,Aparna and Vivek Dixit,archietects,Sandeep Apte,writer and behavioural event interview practitioner,Mujtaba Lokhandwala,who has played the role of a director at companies like Nucon Products Pvt. Ltd,OLE Labs Pvt. Ltd,Sports Equipments (India) and more. PKN originated in Tokyo in 2003 as a meet for young designers to network and exchange ideas,but as years went by,the event has spread to incorporate participation of creative individuals from a variety of sectors across the world.
Pot-pourri
An exquisite collection of ceramic pottery will be displayed at The Renaissance Art Studio,Baner Road. The exhibition titled ‘Studio pottery and more…’ held from October 16-23 will feature clay items like mugs,cups,jugs,platter,serving plates,soup bowls,kettles,jars and more. Traditional clay items with be revamped with modern designs that range from floral to abstract. Talented studio potters like Ajit Vaidya,Pratima Vaidya,Bhavana Palercha,Manoj Sharma and more will showcase their work at the exhibition.
Three cheers
As many as three films by Pune-based directors will be screened at the 14th Mumbai Film Festival organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) that will be held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA),Mumbai from October 18 to 25. The three films include The Bright Day Mohit Takalkar,Samhita by Sumitra Bhave and Pune 52 by Nikhil Mahajan. These films will be introduced at the festival in a special category called ‘India Gold’.
