Pune-Jodhpur IndiGo flight receives hoax bomb threat, third time this week

The flight departed from Pune Airport at 11.45 am and landed safely at Jodhpur Airport at 1:30 pm

A Jodhpur-bound IndiGo flight (6E 133) from Pune received a hoax bomb threat Friday.

G S Chandna, Director, Jodhpur Airport, confirmed no suspicious item was found on the flight. He noted that this was the third hoax threat that the flight received in the last one week – the first one on October 20, followed by another on October 24, and the latest threat Friday.

The director added that the flight landed safely in the isolation bay and that passengers were disembarked with all necessary safety measures in place. The flight departed from Pune Airport at 11.45 am and landed safely at Jodhpur Airport at 1:30 pm.

A spokesperson for the carrier said several IndiGo flights across India, including 6E 11 (Delhi to Istanbul), 6E 58 (Jeddah to Mumbai), 6E 17 (Mumbai to Istanbul), and 6E 108 (Hyderabad to Chandigarh), along with flight 6E 133 (Pune to Jodhpur), received hoax bomb threats on Friday.

“In line with our strict safety protocols, all necessary precautions are being taken, and we are working closely with the relevant authorities. The safety and security of our customers and crew remain our highest priority. We regret any inconvenience caused to our customers and appreciate their understanding during this time,” the company said, issuing a statement.
