18th edition of Pune’s Bhimthadi Jatra to be held from December 20-25
Bhimthadi Jatra will have 85 food stalls offering authentic Maharashtrian delicacies such as Malvani seafood thalis, Kolhapuri thalis, and sweet dishes.

The 18th edition of the much-awaited Bhimthadi Jatra showcasing Maharashtra’s rural arts, culture, and sustainable innovation will be held at the Agriculture Ground, Sinchan Nagar, Pune from December 20 to 25.
This year’s Jatra holds a special significance as it marks the 25th death anniversary of Padma Shri (Late) Appasaheb Pawar, a pioneering agriculturalist renowned for his revolutionary contributions, including drip irrigation.
Talking about the event, Saee Pawar, curator, Bhimthadi Jatra, said: “This year, there will be about 325 stalls… agriculture section will have 25 farmers and the company which they started… and GI tag farming products and all these products will be ‘residue-free’… Products such as fresh farm products, including honey and other agriculture innovations. This year, the theme is #ShareYourPrivilege campaign, as we want to bridge a gap between urban and rural people.”
“We had a record-breaking 1 lakh visitors last time… we are looking at the same number (this year). Bhimthadi Jatra is known for its parking area, it has 5 acres of parking area though it gets congested sometimes, but we have a great team. We manage to keep our area clean,” she added.
4 stalls from Telangana
Sunanda Pawar, founder, Bhimthadi Jatra, said: “We are cooperating with Telangana this time, we have four stalls offering Telangana’s traditional handlooms and authentic cuisine such as pickles and spices… this will enrich our Jatra’s cultural tapestry. Another key highlight is the Bara Balutedar section, which will pay tribute to Maharashtra’s traditional occupational communities. Also, visitors will witness live demonstrations of rural craftsmanship by artisans…”
There will be 85 food stalls offering authentic Maharashtrian delicacies such as Malvani seafood thalis, Kolhapuri thalis, and sweet dishes.
Entry fee for the Jatra is Rs 60 and it will be open from 10 am to 10 pm on all six days, said the organisers.
