Pooja Jadhav case: Murder complaint lodged

Investigations into 16-year-old Pooja Jadhav’s death have confirmed that she was actually murdered. Jadhav’s body was found near her residence on Sunday.

Investigations into 16-year-old Pooja Jadhav’s death have confirmed that she was actually murdered. Jadhav’s body was found near her residence on Sunday.

An offence of murder has been registered against unidentified persons at the Chatuhshrungi police station. Assistant Commissioner of Police Vishnu Mane confirmed the news.

Police said the medical reports confirmed that Pooja was strangulated to death. Police are yet to identify her killer. The motive behind her murder is also not known yet,they police.

Jadhav,a resident of staff quarters of the Armament Research Development Establishment (ARDE),had gone missing on Saturday evening. Her dead body was found in an open yard a few meters away from her house. Police said she had cut marks on her body but they were not the cause of her death. Sources at Aundh Hospital said the death was due to deficiency of oxygen,a condition which can arise due to throttling or forced closing of mouth and nose.

Pooja’s father is a former defence personnel and is posted at ARDE as member of Defence Security Corps (DSC). Pooja studied at a school in Pashan.
