PMC to register complaint against Sena corporator for filing wrong info

The election department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has directed the deputy election officer of Hadapsar ward office to register an offence against Shiv Sena corporator Vijay Deshmukh for allegedly cheating the department by furnishing wrong information about his assets in the affidavit submitted during the civic polls.

The election department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has directed the deputy election officer of Hadapsar ward office to register an offence against Shiv Sena corporator Vijay Deshmukh for allegedly cheating the department by furnishing wrong information about his assets in the affidavit submitted during the civic polls.

“The election department had recieved a complaint against Deshmukh. The preliminary investigation revealed that he submitted wrong information to the office. Hence,the officer concerned has been asked to register an offence against Deshmukh,” said Mangesh Joshi,PMC election officer.

Deputy election officer Madhav Jagtap said he had submitted all documents to police seeking their opinion on filing an offence against Deshmukh.

“Police have asked the civic body to submit all the relevant documents justifying the allegation against Deshmukh so that an offence can be registered against the corporator,” he said.
