Parallel inquiry against builder on,primary probe over

Pune rural police said on Thursday that the primary probe in the criminal cases against Rathore Brothers,Kisan and Pandit,was over but a parallel inquiry by the sub divisional officer was still on.

Pune rural police said on Thursday that the primary probe in the criminal cases against Rathore Brothers,Kisan and Pandit,was over but a parallel inquiry by the sub divisional officer was still on. The builders were earlier arrested and released on bail.

Police initially booked the brothers under section of Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act 1966 and later an offence was registered under the National Highways Act,1956.

The offences were registered after water-logging and a flash flood,caused due to collection of debris from the hill and rainwater near Katraj tunnel at Shindewadi,led to the death of a woman and her daughter last month in a flash flood. Ravindrasinh Pardeshi,additional superintendent of police (Pune rural) said,“The case is still under investigation. The primary probe in the case over. We are yet to file a chargesheet in the case.” A parallel inquiry by the sub divisional officer is currently on in the case,police said.

The complaint under Highways Act said that the construction undertaken by the brothers’ firm had encroached 18 metres into the National Highways Authority of India area.

Police officials said that the findings of the district administration will also be taken into consideration when chargesheet is filed.

“We have kept the district administration in the loop about our probe,” a police officer with Rajgad police said.
