The recently opened joint promises a food fest for foodies who are constantly on the go
With a tagline readingAap khush to hum happy,Indian in a Box,a food joint located on Senapati Bapat Road is a small sized food joint that pledges to pack quite a punch for those who appreciate eating out constantly.
Ashish Dhondi, owner of the restaurant, says,From the way of serving to change of menu,we have a lot on offer. I wanted to change the image of Indian food, which is typecast as being too spicy or having a lot of calories, which is not the case. Moreover, many of our customers, demanded for a medium quantity of the food, which is why I introduced the box concept, which is both easy to carry around and use and quantity wise sufficient.
The menu not only includes uncommon named dishes like Aloo Tuk Tuk (Rs 49) and Veg Golu (Rs 55),it also serves the dishes differently. The specialty of our restaurant is that we use Indian spices but in a measured quantity, which makes us fairly popular among the foreign students as well, says Chef Ganga Rawat.
In the main course,Paneer Masala (Rs 85) and Butter Chicken (Rs 89) are among the popular dishes of the restaurant. The box used is a microwave safe box and ensures that hot food is delivered to the customer. They mainly aim to spread their tastes amongst the students, who not only find the pricing very pocket friendly but also the taste a bit different from run-of-the-mill food items, generally served.
Adwait Thakker, customer, says,I am vegetarian and my friends are non-vegetarian. It was always a problem to find a place that serves both veg and non-veg good food. But Indian in a Box solves the problem. I like Veg Golu for both its name and its taste.
The restaurant,Dhondi adds that,is coming up with a branch in Hinjewadi. They also have plans for further expansion in the future. The menu will be available online in the coming three days, he says.
