One killed,four injured in accident

Pradeep Patil,(32) son of former Congress MLA Yashwant Patil,was killed and four others were injured when a speeding car they were travelling in hit a bus on Katraj-Dehu Road bypass near Sutarwadi on Saturday morning.

Chatushrungi police said they were on their way to Mumbai from Kolhapur in two cars on Saturday. Near Sutarwadi,the car in the front hit a PMPML bus from behind. The injured

were rushed to the hospital where Pradeep was declared dead on arrival. Police have identified the other injured

as Satyadev Ojha (53),Prakash Shivaji Jadhav (30),Bhau Shamrao Ambekar (50) and Vijay Sawant.

MSEDCL technician dies of electrocution

A 26-year-old junior technician with MSEDCL died of electrocution while he was working on a power

distribution point (DP) on Friday night. Bharati Vidyapeeth police have identified the deceased as Anand Kajale of Dhankawadi. Police sub-inspector Rajaram Kshirsagar said,Kajale and his team were attending a call about a fault in the DP. Around 8 pm Kajale fell down from the DP after he got electrocuted. Kshirsagar added,Safety equipment was given to him,but we are verifying whether they were sufficient for working with that power load. We will record the statements of his colleagues who were present with him and will also take opinion from an expert. Our primary aim is to find out whose negligence it was if any.
