Eight months ago,city-based businessman Abrar Khan underwent an operation at Ruby Hall Clinic.

“However, after being discharged from the hospital,my recovery didn’t go as it should have,so I visited my doctor again. I told him there were three mobile towers opposite my house; one of them just 200 feet away,” recalls Khan, who at that time was living near Sanjay Park in a joint family of 24 members. That’s when the doctor advised Khan to shift to another location in order to not let the harmful radiation from the towers interfere with his recovery.

Fortunately, the family owned another house on Bund Garden Road and Khan shifted there with his wife and two children for two months to recover. “Since ours is a joint family,I couldn’t leave the house forever,” says 37-year-old Khan who runs a waterproofing service business.

Khan says he has lived at Sanjay Park for 20 years. Shifting had its own set of problems and inconvenienced him and his family. “Though I have recovered and shifted back to our bungalow at Sanjay Park,we are still worried about the whole family’s health because of the radiation problem,” says Khan.
