Up for Fun

A visit to this entertainment destination will leave one startled. Amigos,a gaming hub with special features,is the latest spot to look out for in the city. Located at Bhandarkar Road,it might miss the attention of the passersby, but an entry into the hub will bring the child back in anyone. “Amigos means ‘friends’ in Spanish. With games, laser mazes, laser tags and a four-dimensional theatre, the place is a perfect hang-out for youngsters,” said Shilpa Pophale, managing director,Electronica Finance Limited, the non-banking finance company managing Amigos. EFL has ventured into the entertainment business with this endeavour. A food court and a relaxing spa with fish pedicure and nail art have also been introduced.

Beat the Heat

This afternoon event was about beating the sweltering heat. Ameya Sharma, assistant manager of tulleeho.com,came to Godrej Nature’s Basket,Aundh, recently to demonstrate the preparation of the best summery drinks this season. Sharma’s bar-tending talents were on full display as he shook the juice, crushed some ice and beat cream skillfully to make classic Orange Julius,an orange-blended chiller, the non-alcoholic Calypso, and Fruity Belvoir with a host of fresh fruits. Basic drinks like Cardinal Punches,Morning Mixers,Natural Snapples and fruit smoothies were on the agenda as well. “Making mocktails is like cooking,it is a wide platform to experiment with. A variety of fruits, herbs and spices can be put in a mocktail for a summery twist,” said Sharma, whose imagination has earlier led him to make a mocktail with sabja or tulsi seeds, which he blended with aam panna and a hint of star anise.
