The NDA has said it was in the process of investigating the chain of events that led to the detention of the officer. “This office has not received any complaint from any source regarding any abnormality in the recruitment process…It is also understood that approximately Rs 92.8 lakh has been recovered by CBI from some civilians residing outside NDA premises,” an NDA statement on Sunday said.
The NDA said Colonel Kulbir Singh was on Saturday detained by CBI officials from Mumbai. “The officer is being questioned for allegations of certain irregularities in the recruitment process for lower division clerks and Group C employees. NDA authorities were unable to contact the officer till late Saturday night. The office of the NDA is yet to receive any official communication from CBI regarding full details of the case. CBI officials had forwarded a request for scrutinising certain personal documents of the officer. This office has been extending its full co-operation to the officials and has handed over the documents.”
