National Defence Academy (NDA) has launched a new state-of-the-art IP (Internet Protocol) exchange as well as a new NDA website. The formal inauguration of the exchange and the website was done by Lt Gen Jatinder Singh,Commandant,NDA on Monday. The General also inaugurated a set of 28 networked classrooms.The networking of 28 classrooms is expected to integrate them with the existing data network and facilitate the effective implementation of e-learning. NDA has already issued 2,100 clients (Laptops without hard drive) to all cadets last year. All the learning material can be accessed by the cadets 24X7. For the first time ever,all the mid-term internal assessment examination were successfully conducted online this term. The new website of the NDA has gone live with this formal inauguration and can be accessed by the www.nda.nic.in The launch of the website,which offers an easy access to essential information,is part of the organisations ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information not only to the general public but also to the many NDA alumni who are settled all around the world. The website offers features including a special profile on the history of NDA right from its genesis,offers a two - dimensional virtual tour,a martyrs page with a special section on Param Veer Chakra and Ashok Chakra awardees.
