Nature often lends itself wonderfully to art. Celebrating the beauty observed in the world around her,Pratima Misra,a PhD in Geography, has translated her love for the subject into art. An exhibition of her paintings was inaugurated on Thursday at the Darpan Art Gallery. Halak Pandya Vaidya,a gold medalist at the Olympics Fine Arts,2008,was the Chief Guest. Other guests at the event included artists Gajraj Chavan,Milind Mulick and Ravi Deo. The exhibition consists of both oil paintings as well as water colour paintings that reflect sights and scenarios that have caught the artist’s eye over the years, ranging from a fort in Jodhpur to the autumn of San Francisco. “My paintings mainly consist of what I observe around me and the way I experience things,” says Misra. The exhibition is on at the art gallery till March 6,between 11 am and 8 pm.
