Mercury dips to 10.9° C

The minimum temperature in the city dipped further to 10.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning,the lowest of this season.

It was at 3.8 degrees Celsius below average.Lowest temperature in state was recorded at Ahmednagar at 10.8 degrees Celsius. Cold conditions prevailed in Konkan-Goa,central Maharashtra and parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha.

The dip in the temperature was attributed to the cold winds from the north India. An IMD report said areas of low pressure were created in the Southwest Bay of Bengal and the patch was expected to cross the Tamil Nadu coast by evening on Saturday.
