The Hard Rock Café will be celebrating its 38th birthday on June 14. On the occasion,Hard Rock Café,Pune will turn their clocks back to the café’s birth year — 1971 — and celebrate the event in true 70s style. The do will feature music of the 70s by the band Retro Legendary Act (RLA) performing live. Founders Day,June 14,will be a one-day event to commemorate the opening of the first Hard Rock Café in London 38 years ago,founded by Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton,two enterprising and music-loving Americans. Hard Rock began its global expansion in 1982,when Tigrett and Morton agreed to develop their own Hard Rock Cafés in various parts of the globe. RLA will perform live at the venue,adding more glamour to the 70s theme. The band was formed in June 2005 with members Vijay (vocalist),Ritesh (lead guitars),Vijay Murthy (bass guitar),Hrishi (drums) and Sourabh (keyboards) coming together. Their influences include Deep Purple,Pink Floyd,Santana,Enrique,U2,Scorpions,Yanni and Eagles.

Cooking for all
Celebrity chef Amar Rane is well-known for having published a number of well-received cookbooks in English,Marathi and in Braille. Recently,the chef,who also hosts cookery shows on television,played host to recipe demonstrations at the Balgandharva Rangmandir. In the past,he has conducted more than 2000 live recipe demonstrations in India and abroad,in English,Hindi and Marathi. In addition,Rane has been an expert consultant to a number of catering establishments across the country and abroad.
