MCCIA ‘Pune Expo 2009’ from November 4

The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce,Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) is all set to host the eighth edition of ‘Pune Expo 2009’,the largest annual integrated business event jointly organised with CREDAI,Pune (formerly PBAP).

The five-day event scheduled from November 4-8 at College of Engineering Grounds (CoEP),Shivajinagar,will be open from 10 am to 4 pm for business visitors and from 4 pm to 8 pm for general visitors.

The expo will showcase a range of innovative products,technologies and services from sectors such as automobiles,auto components,electrical and electronics,engineering,SPM,real estate and infrastructure,education,banking,finance,agriculture,agri-business,food processing,wineries,said a press note.

More than 250 exhibitors will take part in the expo. Some of the key participants are Force Motoros,Venky’s (India) Ltd.,Weikfield Foods Pvt Ltd,Tata Motors Ltd,State Bank of India,Quick Heal Technologies Pvt Ltd,Greaves Cotton Ltd,Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd,DSK Toyota,Bank of Maharashtra,Indian Bank,Gits Food Products Pvt. Ltd.,Aggreko International,Ador Powertron Ltd.,Atharva Software Technologies,Suryadatta Group of Institutes,Venus Traders,Checkmate Facility & Electronic Solutions Pvt. Ltd.,ING Life Insurance Co. Ltd. etc.

Aimed at bringing together established and growing companies from different sectors on a common platform this year,several industries will launch their products on this platform,the note said.

This year,the expo will also have exhibitors from Germany and Sri Lanka,which will include prominent industry promotion organisation. A number of foreign consulates and foreign delegations are likely to visit the exhibition.

The theme of the expo is Business@innovation. During the exhibition,a full day conference has been organised as a concurrent event on business innovation jointly by MCCIA and Elephantversity Institute of Innovation on November 6 from 9 am to 6 pm at Hotel Pride.

Anant Sardeshmukh,Additional Director General,MCCIA,said at the ground-breaking ceremony “Owing to its integrated nature which is not segment-specific,participant demography in the past has attracted exhibitors from various verticals. Hence,the expo aims at providing an effective platform for cross-sectorial interaction,which in turn,will boost business in Pune.”

GA Sathe,vice president and chairman,expo committee,MCCIA,said,“At a time when the Indian economy is showing visible signs of economic revival,the expo will assist in accelerating the process in Pune. The participants and visitors will get a platform to share ideas and get exposure to advanced technology and business opportunities.”
