There are lucky charms and there are lucky charms. While some people consider things like a ring,a book,a talisman or a particular idol as their lucky charm and carry them along all the time, there are also those who are of the opinion that a particular person is lucky for them and being around that person brings positive energy and luck into their lives.

Like Arati Kelekar,a doctor, who feels that her best friend Neha is her lucky charm. “Whenever Neha is around me,I feel that a job gets done quickly and relatively easily. I’ve known her for more than 10 years now and so many incidents have taken place over the years that it has only made me believe more firmly that she’s my lucky charm,” adds Kelekar. In the movie Kismat Konnection,Shahid Kapoor considers Vidya Balan his lucky charm and things work out for him whenever she’s with him. “There’s something about a person’s vibrations and energy field which gels very strongly with some other persons. This is why you might feel someone is lucky for you and vice-versa,” reasons Jitesh Sundesha,an astrologer.

For Jharna Jaiswal,a PR professional,it’s her mother who sets everything right for her. “I consider my mom to be lucky for me. Whatever I am today is because of her. Whether it is my education or the kind of individual I am or even the family I have married into, can all be credited to her. I had lost all hope of doing well in my Std X board exams since I was suffering from typhoid. But her presence lifted me up and made everything fall into place,” says Jaiswal. “This is just one of the several times when I’ve felt her positive energy lift me up from bouts of depression or help in pre-empting a disaster,” she adds.

For fashion choreographer Sandeep Dharma, his mother Meena Dharma is the guiding light and the lucky charm. “There are times when her mere presence has helped me tide over a crisis. Whenever I’ve done something after consulting her,it has always turned out well,” says Dharma. “Her being present for my shows/projects ensures that all goes well.
