Learning science will now be fun

The exciting group—www.excitingscience.org – a group of NCL scientists have launched an initiative to share the excitement of science with school children. “Our goal is not to “teach” science,but to “excite” children. The initiative gained momentum since we started in September 2008,and over 20 scientists from NCL; faculty from IISER and IIT-B; staff from Venture Centre,and enthusiastic volunteers are associated with this group,” according to a press release issued on Monday.

The present activities of this group include talks for school children,talks by researchers and practitioners on various topics in science,technology and mathematics for school children of class VIII-X.

Talks are held once a month at 10 am on Sunday mornings at NCL Innovation Park,Pashan Road. They are free and open to students and science teachers. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis,by sending email to register@excitingscience.org .
