Pune-based Amol Kolhe will play the lead in the show ‘Veer Shivaji’ on Colours. The protagonist,Veer Shivaji, has taken an age leap, which is when Kolhe was selected for the same. He has also been part of some Marathi projects like On Duty 24 Taas,Aaghat and Chhatrapati Veer Shivaji. Kolhe will essay this new role from March 9. Kolhe, who began shooting a week back, has spent a lot of time researching about Shivaji Maharaj before he played the character. For the last two months,I have been reading about him. I have seen old Marathi films and have gone through the oldest literature available on him. I’ve even watched some recent plays that feature him. I think this was necessary to give the character a perspective, he says.
