Architecture expert from Denmark David Zahle on Sunday said he was interested in taking up architecture projects in India in cities like Pune,Agra and Ajmer.
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of a lecture on sustainable architecture,Zahle said infrastructure in India had been scientifically built, pointing out that vertical and horizontal constructions have to be decided in the context in which the buildings are being constructed. Sustainable architecture is the key to fulfill the norms of energy conservation, he said. Architecture is seeing rapid advancement owing to the use of computers and technology, added Zahle.
The lecture was organised by ‘Ex-students Excellence in Entreprenuer Domain’ of the College of Architecture,Kolhapur. Zahle said the INGELS Group was well-equipped to undertake projects in other parts of the world as the construction norms in Denmark are stringent.
“We have done projects in the UAE,Kazakhstan and the US. Probably owing to the tight norms,Denmark is environmentally-conscious. For instance,a large number of people take to cycling to preserve the environment.”
While the economic slowdown did affect the construction sector, now things are looking up, said Zahle.
