India registered a clean sweep in the womens discus throw event while Tintu Luka won the silver medal in the womens 800-meter run in the Asian Athletics Grand Prix being held at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City,Balewadi,here on Tuesday.
Krishna Poonia won the gold medal in the discuss throw event with a distance of 59.51 meters.
Seema Antil won the silver with a distance of 59.5 meters and Harwant Kaur won the bronze medal with a distance of 57.75 meters,said a press note issued here.
In the womens 800 meter event Indias gold medal hopeful Tintu Luka won silver.
She held the lead till the last fifty meters but in the end could not match the pace of eventual winner Margarita Matsko of Kazakhstan. Sushma Devi of India won the bronze medal.
In the mens 400 meter run,India registered a 1-2 finish with SK Mortaza winning gold and J Premanand winning silver. In the mens triple jump,Rajith Maheshwari won the gold medal while Amarjit Singh won bronze.
