Hiring ‘intent’ up in IT,telecom: report

An employment report released by TeamLease Services shows that unlike the cities of Mumbai and Chennai,which showed maximum growth in net employment outlook the indices for Kolkata,Pune and Ahmedabad have shown a decrease.

An employment report released by TeamLease Services shows that unlike the cities of Mumbai and Chennai,which showed maximum growth in net employment outlook the indices for Kolkata,Pune and Ahmedabad have shown a decrease.

The report that was recently released in the city revealed that five per cent was the employment outlook for Mumbai while as it was relatively lesser for the Pune. However,the report pointed out that the hiring intent picked up appreciably across entry,middle and senior levels. Among sectors,IT,ITes and telecommunication hiring sentiment for these three sectors has increased by more than 20 percent “which is a strong indication of positive business sentiments.”

The report further points out that the growth in intent to hire entry and middle level profiles was appreciative and was close to 50 per cent of all those intending to hire. While hiring intent showed decrease for junior level profiles[by 2 points,the magnitude of hiring intent was seen to be well over 60 percent with much of this intent being contributed by small sized up to 500 employee businesses.

Between January to March this year,the net employment outlook for the city climbed up by 2 points and stood at 79 while as the net business outlook saw a surge and stood at 85. Among the sectors which is showing highest growth in the city,the sectors of IT and ITes figure at the top followed by the sectors of retail and FMCG and telecommunication.
